Joules seeks new CEO as Porter 'retires'

Published
Apr 1, 2019

Colin Porter is set to leave his role as chief executive officer of British fashion brand Joules before the end of its 2020 financial year.

Porter, who has led the business since 2015, is retiring from executive life, but the exact timing of his departure is still to be confirmed.

He joined Joules in 2010, and became CEO before the company’s successful £140m floatation on AIM in 2016. "Since joining Joules in 2010 the company has grown significantly,” he commented in a statement. “This reflects the strength of the brand and the skill and commitment of the entire team across the business."

His decision to leave the CEO position follows his appointment as non-executive director of Moss Bros last week. He is expected to become chairman of the menswear retailer in May to succeed Debbie Hewitt, who is retiring on the ninth anniversary of her appointment.

“Colin has made a truly outstanding contribution to Joules since joining the business in 2010. During his tenure, Joules has achieved fantastic growth both in the UK and internationally,” Ian Fillby, Joules chairman, said.

“Joules has a committed, experienced and highly skilled executive management team who, along with Colin's successor, will continue to focus on expanding Joules as a leading lifestyle brand.”
