Joules, the fashion brand inspired by the British countryside, is exploring a more classic look by launching its first ever formalwear collection for men in collaboration with Next.

With a core collection comprising colourful wellies, Breton tops and polka dot rain coats, the brand is best known for designing clothes inspired by British country lifestyles.

But Joules said that the launch of the ‘not-so-formal’ formalwear range reflects the progression of its growth strategy, as it introduces an extension of its product offering to meet the lifestyle needs of its customers.

So the collection will feature suits, jackets, trousers, shoes, shirts, ties and pocket squares, made using British tweeds and worsteds from the historical mills of Alfred Brown and Abraham Moon and Sons.

Engraved corozo buttons and printed linings will ensure the brand’s unique use of colour and attention to detail is reflected throughout.

Marking the brand’s 30th anniversary, the collection will be sold exclusively through Next.co.uk from June, with prices starting from £199 for a jacket and £249 for a full suit.

The new formalwear collection joins an ever-increasing range of Joules lifestyle categories, and this is one of the company’s key goals moving forward to drive sales both in the UK and internationally.

Last week, the retailer revealed that revenues increased by 17.2% to £218 million in the year ended 26 May 2019, supported by a soaring 147% increase in licensing revenue. The full results will be released on 23 July.
