John Lewis has announced the appointment of Becky Brock to the role of marketing director, effective from 20 March.

Brock is currently serving as marketing director at outdoor retailer Snow+Rock and has a wealth of experience in the marketing business having held roles at Homebase, The Edrington Group and Unilever.

She will be responsible for all aspects of John Lewis’s marketing strategy and will take on the leadership of the CRM, digital, brand and category marketing teams.

She is the retailer’s first marketing director since Craig Inglis was promoted to the expanded role of customer director. He said Becky Brock “brings with her a wealth of leadership experience and proven track record in brand strategy and commercial performance.”

In her new role, Brock will focus on ensuring the relevancy of the John Lewis brand as it navigates the difficult retail environment. Retailers expect a challenging 2017 with issues such as Brexit uncertainty, falling footfall and the trend towards digital shaping the retail landscape.
