The 1,500-square-foot store will open in the outlet centre at the beginning of July.

It will join the brand’s flagship location in Meadowhall shopping centre, opened in November. Since its launch, the store has reported reported gross sales of over £3.3m. Joe Browns also said direct sales for the company have risen by 17% in the year to date, and the business is currently tracking 5% up on a tough budget.

“This is the next phase for us is exploring retail and that means more people will be able to access remarkable garments at great prices,” said Simon Brown, managing director and founder of Joe Browns.

“Our Meadowhall store captures and really brings to life the essence of our fun and liberating brand, so we’re really looking forward to replicating this and delivering a true point of difference to the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet York.”

Darren Abbott, finance director at Joe Browns, added: “The continued success of the business allows us to continue investing in new customer recruitment and we see our second retail store very much a part of this strategy.”

London agency Dalziel and Pow has been commissioned to design the new store, which will be located on the South Mall of the designer outlet.
