After two years of service, the British designer Joanna Sykes is leaving Aquascutum. The news was announced just as a new team has taken the reins at the fashion house, led by its new CEO, Tim Dally. The latter has reportedly stated that the decision was mutual, and that further changes would be made and announced shortly.

When she arrived as the brand's new artistic director in 2010, Joanna Sykes had to set aside her own contemporary ready-to-wear label, Sykes, in order to focus completely on her mission at Aquascutum. Her new projects are as yet unknown.

The Hong Kong group YGM Trading had rescued Aquascutum in May of 2012 by acquiring the headquarters, 16 shops and three flagships and preserving hundreds of jobs, said the British press. The production plant in Corby, which had closed its doors early in the liquidation proceedings of the company, was not saved by this acquisition.
