José Vidal began his professional career at the heart of the Tejidos Royo family business, where he oversaw its overseas expansion. Vidal then founded Jeanología in order to develop eco-friendly and sustainable technologies for the textile industry.

Vidal was committed to the preservation of the environment and to social equality. Het set up the Fondation Amigos de Rimkieta (FAR) with Juan Carlos Vázquez-Dodero, who works on projects to improve the quality of life for people in one of the poorest regions of Burkina Faso.
