Jean and Judith Touitou are all smiles at the A.P.C. fashion show in Paris

This is certainly the most powerful photo from the A.P.C. show, which took place on Sunday: Jean and Judith Touitou coming to greet the public at the end of a fashion show organised at the brand's Parisian headquarters at 39, rue Madame, in the 6th arrondissement. A few days after the official takeover of the company by the L Catterton fund, their appearance on the runway made a point that the founder and creative director are still present at the heart of the French label.

It is a discreet return to the runway for A.P.C., after Jean Touitou announced that he wanted to take a step back from the catwalk during the Covid-19 pandemic.

And the show? Very A.P.C., with beautiful denim jackets, jeans and skirts, but also long woollen coats and mackintoshes, some bombers worn over track suits or straight skirts and oversized shirts and polo shirts.

A close-fitting zebra cashmere jumper and a long, bulky giraffe-print coat spiced up the collection. In total, the duo showed 31 looks worn by the senior students of the Lycée Diagonale in Paris, the school of Jean Touitou's daughter Lily.

Maybe a sign that, with its new owner, the brand may be returning to futur Paris Fashion Weeks.
