It last featured in London at the Southbank Centre in 2019 before the pandemic having premiered in Paris at the Folies Bergère earlier in that year.

The part revue, part fashion show will relaunch with a new stage format, including a catwalk.

Gaultier, who is the show’s author, director and costume designer, said: “I’m so thrilled that my Fashion Freak Show will be returning to London. I have been greatly influenced by British music, theatre and cinema throughout my career from ‘The Rocky Horror Show’ through Punk and New Wave - and I keep coming back. I hope that audiences will enjoy the show as much as I did creating it.”

Since retiring from his business empire in January 2020 after half a century making headlines in the fashion world, the 69-year-old former ‘enfant terrible’ of French fashion has since curated ‘Cinemode’ an exhibition in Paris on the power of women.
