Jason Wu named artistic director of Boss Womenswear

PARIS, France - German group Hugo Boss has announced that it has appointed Jason Wu as artistic director for its womenswear line. He will take over from Eyan Allen who has been at the helm of the since 2007. The German label, which traditionally presents its collections at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin will be skipping the Spring-Summer 14 shows and will present next February in New York for Autumn-Winter 2014/2015. Hugo Boss menswear, designed by Kevin Lobo, will also present at New York Fashion Week from February 2014.

With loyal clients such as Michelle Obama and Anna Wintour, Jason Wu also recently launched his own contemporary clothing line named Miss Wu following a successful foray into affordable fashion with a Target capsule collection. The American-Taiwanese designer, already a member of the CFDA, will continue to run his own label and will take his on his role at Boss from June 15. Boss, based in Metzingen, Germany, will open a studio in New York where the designer has been based since he launched his line in 2006.
