Jacket Required announces series of talks tackling sustainability
Jacket Required is opening its doors this Wednesday with hundreds of exhibitors and a new series of spotlight sessions named ‘Discussion Required’.
The contemporary menswear and streetwear exhibition said the new series will tackle key issues and developments in the industry, providing a platform for some of the industry’s leading brands who have re-engineered their products to ‘do less harm’ and embraced the power of data.
Cally Russell, CEO and co-founder of Mallzee Insights -- the trade fair’s data partner -- will share insights into which products customers love and how consumer preferences vary by location and demographic in the first of the three talks on Wednesday.
She will be followed by a panel talk focusing on sustainability where Fredrik Ekstrom, creative director of Tretorn; Anabel Dueñas, head of design and production at Lefrik; and Adrian Gunn-Wilson, sales and marketing director at Howies will talk about the need to offer sustainable and ethical products.
Finally, visitors will get advice on how to ensure sustainability in a session led by Zak Avery of Ethically Woven with Scott Fraser Simpson, founder of Scott Fraser Collection; Toby Davies, founder of Nima; and Oliver Powe, business development manager of Favour Up, who are looking at being sustainable in a range of new ways.
Discussion Required is one of several initiatives being presented at Jacket Required’s upcoming event on 24-25 July. The show will be held in East London’s Old Truman Brewery and is expected to attract thousands of buyers from independent retailers, department stores, online retailers and multiple retailers.
