Issey Miyake promotes Takahiko Ise to role of president

The Japanese ready-to-wear label has announced the promotion of Takahiko Ise to the role of president, according to Japanese media reports. The appointment became effective October 1.

Ise, who was previously in charge of the house’s production department, takes over from former president Masakatsu Nagatani, who will remain active in the company an advisory capacity.
Ise joined the company in 1981 and has since cultivated a comprehensive experience from the planning to manufacturing stages for the lines Pleats Please Issey Miyake; Me Issey Miyake; Homme Plissé Issey Miyake; Bao Bao Issey Miyake.
With the appointment of an executive highly experienced in the manufacturing division, the label is highlighting its shift towards making the combination of innovation; new technology and its proprietary techniques a focus for the company going forward.
The label also announced the appointments of Koji Usui and Keisuke Harukiya as managing directors.
