Irish multi-brand retailer DV8 plans to invest £1.5 million in warehousing, technology and talent over the next two years as part of an expansion push.

The independent brand, which trades from 42 stores across Ireland, has recently made a deal with e-commerce company Export Technologies to move its online operation to a bespoke platform.

The move to Export Technologies’ IRP platform has helped the company see a 50% uplift in online sales and reach new global markets, according to The Irish News. Its top selling regions include Australia and the United States.

"We made the move to IRP to create a more streamlined link between our bricks and mortar stores and online offering. We also have a massive international opportunity and the IRP platform is helping us reach global markets,” said Neville McDowell.

DV8 targets customers aged 18-40 years with a selection of affordable and trend-led clothing, footwear and accessories from top brands including Superdry, Jack Wills, Vero Moda and Converse.

It opened its first store in 1994, and since then expanded into a national chain with a flagship in Belfast.
