Ireland joins E-Commerce Europe

Hot on the heels of Spain, Ireland’s Retail Excellence Ireland is the latest to join E-Commerce Europe, an umbrella organization for online retailing.

Created in 1995, the Irish organization groups together 1050 members. In 2011, B2C e-commerce generated 3.7 billion euros in the country, a figure that could well reach 4 billion for 2012.

E-Commerce Europe is an umbrella organization that serves France, Holland, Italy, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway and Spain. The organization, who’s aim is to protect the interests of those in the sector, has estimated that the turnover in the e-commerce sector could reach 305 billion euros, an increase of 22% on last year.
