Intu launches ‘Guide to Christmassing’ advertising campaign

Intu has launched a new advertising campaign to drive footfall to its UK shopping centres this Christmas. The advert focuses on the way customers experience the run up to the big day. 


 


The ‘Guide to Christmassing’ campaign features the same bird characters first introduced by Intu in its TV campaign last year. The colourful bird puppets represent seven including a duck, the Big Day Out Shopper; an owl, the Wise Shopper; and a flamingo, the Me Me Me Shopper. 

Featuring a voiceover by comedian Matt Lucas, the narrative tells shoppers that Intu offers memorable experiences for every kind of Christmas shopper at is centres nationwide and online.

“Our aim is always to make our customers smile, which in turns helps our retailers to flourish and there’s no better time to do that than Christmas. The Christmas build-up is where intu's role really lies,” said Roger Binks, customer experience director at Intu.

“This year we’ve used our shopper types to tell a different story. Christmas day is what people look forward to but we know there is a lot of fun to be had in the build-up to the big day.”

Intu owns 17 shopping centres across the UK in Nottingham, Glasgow, Newcastle, Essex, Manchester, Milton Keynes and Cardiff, among others.

Its shopping centres are home to major national and international retailers including John Lewis, Debenhams, Victoria’s Secret, Zara, H&M, Topshop and Hugo Boss.
