Intu Watford welcomes UK retailer Cath Kidston

UK label Cath Kidston, known for its modern vintage-inspired designers, has opened a 1,900 sq ft store at intu Watford.

The shopping centre’s affluent catchment fits well with the brand, which hosted a successful pop up shop in the centre last year. Intu Watford is located in the heart of the Watford town centre, attracting well-heeled shoppers from North London and the home counties.

Cath Kidston’s opening follows the recent opening of another iconic brand, Levi’s. The jeans label opened this summer a 1,600 sq ft store close to Apple, Jack and Jones and Swarovski on the upper level.

“Watford is already a prosperous town and our £178m investment to extend intu Watford creating a contemporary 1.4m sq ft retail and leisure destination will drive the local economy through the addition of more great retail brands and a fantastic range of family friendly dining and leisure choices,” said Rebecca Ryman, regional director of intu.

Once the extension is completed in 2018, Watford is estimated to be promoted to the top 20 CACI national retail destination ranking, alongside Edinburgh and Bristol. As a result, the town will be classified as a premium London satellite.
