Icebreaker names Josh Vaughan general manager EMEA

Icebreaker, the performance apparel brand owned by US group VF Corp., has promoted Josh Vaughan, its current sales director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, to the post of EMEA general manager.

Josh Vaughan - VF Corp

Vaughan joined Icebreaker in 2012, and has held various senior management roles on the Australian and later the North American market. He took charge of Icebreaker’s sales in the EMEA region in January 2020. He has previously worked at Pacific Brands, Lacoste Footwear, Danone and GlaxoSmithKline (Pfizer).

“Josh has been with Icebreaker for over a decade, and during this time has delivered outstanding results on every single continent where the brand operates,” said Jan Van Mossevelde, global president of Icebreaker, in a press release. “He not only embodies what it means to be a natural adventurer, but he is also a great business leader and a true people champion. We are so pleased to have him leading our team in EMEA,” he added.

Vaughan’s appointment comes just over a year after Van Mossevelde, formerly Icebreaker's head of Europe, was named global president of the brand, taking over from Greg Smith. Icebreaker was acquired by VF Corp. in 2017. In fiscal 2018-19, it generated a revenue of $174 million, and is currently distributed via 5,000 multibrand retailers across 50 countries.

VF Corp., owner among others of Vans, The North Face, Timberland, Eastpak, Napapijri and Supreme, will publish the results of its last fiscal year, closed at the end of March, on May 19. The group is forecasting an annual revenue of approximately $12 billion (€10.34 billion) - of which $600 million generated by Supreme - equivalent to a 28% increase over the previous year.
