Michelle Maynard is to join House of Fraser on 4 July as its new chief people officer, the British premium department store group announced on Friday.

Maynard has over 25 years of experience in the field, serving as HR director for several fast paced, customer focussed organisations across various sectors, including British Airways, Coca-Cola, the AA and Thomas Cook Group. Most recently, she was group talent and OD director for financial services company Aviva.

In addition to responsibility for the HR function, Maynard will oversee inter communications. She will report directly to incoming CEO Alex Williamson when he joins the business on 31 July.

“I am extremely pleased that someone with Michelle’s knowledge and experience is part of our executive team as we implement our five-year vision which will ensure the future success of our business,” said House of Fraser executive chairman Frank Slevin.

The British retail chain has 59 stores across the UK and Ireland, and employs over 5,000 people.
