Holland & Sherry makes India entry through SK Birla Group

British luxury fabric maker Holland & Sherry has launched its operations in India through a joint venture with SK Birla Group.

"India is the fastest growing country in the world and it is the right time for us to bring our products in the Indian market..We expect good growth in the next few years," said Holland & Sherry, chief operating officer, Frank O'Reilly.

Holland & Sherry India Pvt Ltd is a 51:49 partnership, with the Indian partner holding the minority stake.

"Holland & Sherry will be sold through over 100 dealer outlets across the country. The aim of the venture is to have an annual growth of 15-20 per cent in the coming five years," Digjam Ltd and Holland & Sherry India Managing Director and CEO C Bhaskar said.

The company offers fabrics that range between ₹10,000 and ₹15 lakh a metre.

H&S India said it plans to grow the number of outlets by 15-20 per cent in the next 4-5 years and will focus on reaching out to more outlets with shop-n-shop format.

The brand was in the news when Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s wore his much-talked about monogrammed suit during US President Barack Obama’s visit to India last year.
