The fairly high-end herbalism-inspired Chinese cosmetics brand Herborist will open its first European flagship store at 38 Avenue de l'Opéra (2nd arrondissement) in Paris in mid-April.

BNP Paribas Real Estate’s retail department advised the brand’s backer Allianz under a tri-exclusive mandate and Herborist as part of an exclusive search mandate.

With a total area of 1,100 square foot space spread over three floors, the store’s ground floor is dedicated to sales space. The floor above will house a relaxation area and tearoom, while the basement will be transformed into spa and massage area.

Launched in China in 1998 by the group Shanghai Jahwa, Herborist partnered in 2007 with the Parisian agency Hundred Degrees to refresh its packaging and to expand internationally. A year later, accompanied by the agency Wolkoff and Arnodin, the Chinese brand made its debut on the European market via the store network Sephora.
