British heritage brand Hawes & Curtis is continuing to make the most of its royal links and has created an exclusive collection to coincide with the release of hit TV show The Crown: Season 2 on Blu-ray and DVD later this month.

The multi-award-winning show follows Queen Elizabeth II through the late 1950s and early 60s and takes in such major events as the Suez Crisis and the assassination of President Kennedy.

The UK company, which has held four royal warrants, had earlier made a collection inspired by the uniform the Queen wore during WW2. And this new collection is a capsule offer drawing inspiration from her 1950s and 1960s wardrobe.

The company said “it includes sumptuous satin blouses featuring lavish pussy bows. In luxurious royal blue and rich jewel tones, they salute this season's ladylike aesthetic. The collection also features the brand's signature women's cotton shirts with distinctive high collars and sleek silhouettes. Elegant cufflinks complete the royal collection.”

There’s also an accompanying menswear offer (presumably inspired by Prince Philip), which is “a reworking of traditional designs and elements into contemporary pieces.” That means tailored suits, classic tweed blazers, knitted waistcoats and traditional Jermyn Street shirts acting as the hero pieces. Heritage print silk ties and accessories add the finishing touches to tailoring.

Hawes & Curtis CEO Touker Suleyman said he was “thrilled” to be partnering with The Crown for a second season. “Having served royalty including HM Queen Elizabeth II in 1949, this iconic series truly resonates with our brand. Our carefully considered collection illustrates our brand's longstanding heritage. Royal style has never been so attainable.”
