H&M has turned to Pringle of Scotland for its new knitwear collection.

The fast fashion retailer has partnered with the heritage label on a cozy collection of traditional separates with a sporty twist, due to go on sale worldwide on October 3.

Featuring Pringle of Scotland's heritage highland argyles and jacquards, the collection is rooted in an autumnal color palette of mustard, dove grey and biscuit brown, boosted by flashes of acid yellow. The line incorporates recycled polyester and organic cotton, and focuses on patchwork patterns, dog prints and retro diamond motifs for a playful spin on winter dressing. Silhouettes are contemporary, with the series offering oversized cuts, balloon sleeves and raw edges.

"Pringle of Scotland has a long history of collaboration, and this latest partnership with H&M has been hugely inspiring," said Katy Wallace, Brand Director at Pringle of Scotland, in a statement. "We are always looking for new ways to express the DNA of our heritage knitwear and we hope this latest playful, sporty take on our famous argyle and fair isle knitwear will delight our existing customers, as well as reach a worldwide audience via H&M."

Swedish retailer H&M has a well-documented love of luxury fashion collaborations, with recent designer partnerships including Giambattista Valli, the Italian house of Moschino and the high-end lingerie label Love Stories. Previous big-name collaborations have included Karl Lagerfeld, Kenzo and Balmain.
