H&M, the Swedish fast fashion giant, is continuing to expand in the UK and will open a store at the Howard Centre in Welvyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, later this spring.

The new store will sell ladieswear, menswear, kidswear and Divided, its younger fashion range. A spokesperson from H&M said: “We are delighted to be opening in The Howard Centre and believe this is an exciting opportunity to expand our brand. The new store will offer affordable fashion and quality clothing in a sustainable way with something for everyone, no matter your age, budget or personal style.”

H&M has been in the UK since 1976 and currently has 257 stores in the country, where it is focusing on expanding even more. The company recently posted a 7% year-on-year increase in January sales, a slowdown from the 10% increase seen in December.

Next door to H&M, on the ground floor of the Howard Centre, another new brand is opening - British clothing and accessories retailer Fat Face will also enter the centre this spring.
