The store will measure 1,464 sqm. and sell H&M's womenswear, menswear, teen range Divided and kidswear. H&M first launched in the UK in 1976 and now has more than 260 stores in the country.

H&M’s Country Manager for UK & Ireland Carlos Duarte commented: “It’s exciting to continue to expand within the London area, reaching both new and existing customers."

The retailer appears to be targeting the UK market at the moment. It recently also announced that it is opening a regional flagship in Peterborough, East Midlands.

The H&M group reported an 8% increase in sales in June, a much lower growth rate than in previous years. The retailer plans to open 425 new stores in the current year. As of the end of June, H&M operated 4,095 stores, compared to 3,642 a year earlier.
