Australia is the latest market to get an online shop for the H&M brand with the Swedish company opening the webstore in the country as part of its wider commitment to increasing its digital sales.

The debut comes in the same month that the parent firm said it was adding to its Russian web retail ops with launches for Cos, Weekday, Monki, & Other Stories and Arket in that market this autumn.

In recent results announcements it has stressed how important online growth is for its overall strategy.

As for Australia, for the first time globally, it’s also launching online at the same time as its loyalty program, H&M Member. This offers personalised discounts, free shipping with purchases over A$60 and free returns for all online orders, as well as invitations to exclusive events. The digital membership card in the H&M mobile app also allows members shopping online to pay using Klarna’s Pay in 4 option.

The first H&M store in Australia opened 2014 and the brand now offers online shopping in 54 markets.

“We are very excited to finally launch H&M online in Australia and to be able to offer our fashion collections to customers nationwide anytime, anywhere. We now have 40 stores across the country and this significant milestone extends H&M’s omnichannel offering,” said country manager Thomas Coellner.
