Grosvenor has announced that its Retail Concierge Service has helped many small, independent brands open stores in London in its first year of operation.

The property group said two thirds of its retailers are independent brands, and many have chosen its London estate, including parts of Mayfair and Belgravia, to open their first location.

The Retail Concierge Service was developed in 2018 after research showed small brands often find the process of searching for new retail space overwhelming and too time-consuming.

“With so many young and independent brands on our estate, we are acutely aware of the stress and time involved in launching a store. So we set up the Retail Concierge Service to make it easier for growing retailers to take new space,” Jo Lea, retail director at Grosvenor Britain & Ireland, explained in a promotional video.

Some of the fashion brands taking space in the exclusive London estate have included the DailyDressEdit, a pop-up curated by style columnist and brand consultant Isabel Spearman which opened for two weeks in May in Motcomb Street.

In 2018, the London estate reported 34 retail signings and 21 new openings, including Matchesfashion’s flagship store in Mayfair, Beulah London, which relocated from Ebury Street to Elizabeth Street and children’s clothing brand Pepa & Co’s first physical boutique.
