In his new role, Darling will direct and manage the overall strategic direction and business operations of the company.

Darling has previously served as executive director of LF Americas at Li & Fung Limtited, where he managed wholesale and distribution in the U.S. Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors for the American Apparel & Footwear Association and the Parsons Board of Governors, and as an advisor to the Alliance for Bangladesh Worker Safety, as well as the Accord on Fire & Building Safety in Bangladesh.

Prior to his current role, Darling also served as the Head of Government and Public Affairs at Li & Fung Limited until August of 2017.

Departing CEO Rockowitz joined Li & Fung Limited in 2001 as executive director, and has served as GBG's vice chairman, executive director and chief executive officer since 2014.

Darling's appointment comes after the company's sale of certain North American assets to Differential Brands Group for over one billion dollars.
