Pitti Uomo is pulling out all the stops for its next edition, inviting LVMH-owned luxury fashion label Givenchy as its guest of honour. The label confirmed to FashionNetwork.com that it will show on Wednesday 12 June during the trade show, which will run from June 11-14 in Florence, Italy. It will be an opportunity for the label to showcase the first menswear runway from Clare Waight Keller before returning to the Paris Fashion Week calendar in January 2020.

The British designer, who has been the creative director of Givenchy since March 2017, has focused on women’s ready-to-wear and haute couture, showing menswear and womenswear together – creating the first haute couture menswear in the label’s history.

In January, the house put the spotlight back on menswear, with a presentation of 20-odd looks at Paris Fashion Week.

Pitti Uomo, with its magnificient locations in the heart of Florence and its high visibility at the start of the menswear season, will allow Waight Keller the ideal opportunity to showcase her plans for menswear at Givenchy, mixing sportswear and couture, before a wide audience.
