Giorgio Armani is selling its Milan Fashion Week beauty look in the form of a new makeup collection created backstage before the show.

For the Italian house's Autumn / Winter 2016 show, makeup artist Linda Cantello channeled the dense and tactile qualities of velvet and the lightness of florals to create a pretty, rockstar look. As part of the "Lab Armani Runway," a unique tool composed of a range of pigments and bases that enables Cantello to create colors live backstage at fashion shows, the "Armani Runway Fall Winter 2016 Make-up Collection" will be made available for fashionistas to copy the look.

"For the past two years, we have been doing the Runway collection, which is genuinely a look created backstage at the show to fit with the fashion collection," explains Cantello. "Obviously, this collection has to be wearable as I don't want to alienate the consumers. This season, inspired by the beautiful floral fabrics, with a faded vintage feel, I created a pretty rock star's girlfriend look."

The new collection features three products in the form of a runway face-and-eye palette, an eye tint and a 'Rouge d'Armani,' all created backstage.

Firstly, Cantello prepped the skin with "Armani Prima Glow-On Moisturizing Balm", before applying "Maestro Fusion Makeup" and "High Precision Retouch" to create a pale, flawless-looking base. A dusting of "Armani Runway FW16 Palette" translucent powder set things in place.

In tune with the trend for bleached-out brows, the models' brows were lightened with "Eye & Brow Maestro" in shades 8 "Greige" or 13 "Platinum". For the eyes, Cantello created a trio of eyeshadows in "Black Velvet," "Greige Mauve," and "Skin Sheen," which were blended over the eyelids, onto the outer corner and under the eyes. Cantello drew a thin line close to the top lash line with the black velvet shade and dotted the iridescent "Armani Runway FW16 Eye Tint" on the upper crease and in the inner corner of the eyes.

The new "Armani Runway FW16 Rouge d'Armani" was used to create lavender nude lips, while nails were left natural, buffed with one coat of "Armani Nail Lacquer" in shade 101 "Zero."

The limited edition collection will be available in selected stores from August 2016.
