Zalando, the German e-tailer that focuses on clothes and footwear, has introduced its Partnership Programme to the UK. The programme, which is already up and running in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Italy, Luxemburg and Austria, lets other retailers display and sell their goods on the Zalando platform.

To be able to take advantage of the programme, retailers are checked against a series of strict criteria, including their ability to match the Zalando customer offer, the quality of their products and the relevance of their assortment.

"The focus is always on the consumer. We aim to increase local relevance by attracting more brands from the UK, whilst at the same time maintaining our high standards to create the best shopping experience for our customers," explains Robert Schütze, Country Manager for the UK at Zalando.

"The first partner has just been launched in the UK and we want to continue working with more brands and retailers who fit our portfolio, fulfil our standards and bring something new to the Zalando website," he continued.

The partners are responsible for shipping products to the consumer but Zalando takes care of everything that has to do with logistics (handling orders, returns, shipping, etc.).

According to Zalando, its websites attract more than 100 million visits per month.
