Georg Jensen, the Danish design brand known for its jewellery, watches and silver pieces, has named Eva-Lotta Sjöstedt its new CEO.

Sjöstedt has extensive experience in managing global retail companies, and has previously worked at IKEA and as CEO of Karstadt. Current Georg Jensen CEO David Chu will now become the company's chairman and will remain in his role as chief creative director.

Chu said: “After three exciting years steering the business to its current position, the time is right to hand over to Eva-Lotta. Design has always been my passion and whilst I have very much enjoyed my time as CEO, I am excited that, with Eva-Lotta’s arrival, I am now able to focus my attention on my role as chief creative director.”

With over one hundred years in the business, Georg Jensen has stores in 27 countries around the world.
