The store will measure 230 sqm. and be located in the £165m Victoria Gate development that is opening this autumn. The development will provide the city with a new 53,400 sqm. retail quarter and encompass the adjacent Victoria Quarter. It will have an "aspirational mix" of retail brands and restaurants, most of which will be new to the region, developer Hammerson said.

Robin Dobson, Director Retail Development at Hammerson, commented: “Global retailer, GANT is a welcome addition to the line-up of brands at Victoria Gate and we are delighted that they have chosen this location to build a presence in the North of England. Attracting new brands to Leeds reinforces the perception of the city as a vibrant Northern hub that is on course to become a best in class retail, leisure and dining destination.”

Fergus Patterson, Managing Director of Gant UK & Ireland, added: “We are very excited to be opening a new GANT store in the Victoria Gate development. Leeds featured highly on our acquisition list and the quality of the development itself, along with the presence of other premium brands, made Victoria Gate a compelling proposition.”

Gant recently made a number of key hires and promotions, including its new Creative Director, Matthew Wood, who previously held the role of Business Unit Director for Gant sub-brands Diamond G and Rugger.
