Cassio G-Shock has opened a special installation at its Central London store to celebrate the upcoming launch of a collaboration with British virtual band Gorillaz.

The watch brand’s store on Carnaby Street has been transformed into a crash scene, taken from a series of collaborative videos which show the members of the Gorillaz band perform a gig in space wearing G-Shock watches before being chased by aliens.

A mockup of their vehicle and the case they use to store the watches are featured in G-Shock’s flagship store to mark the collaboration, which comprises a collection of limited-edition watches inspired by each band member’s personality.

The DW5600 watch, one of G-Shock’s core styles, has been reimagined in three different colourways, each taking their cues from 2D, Murdoc Niccals and Noodle. Meanwhile, the GX56 style has been given a Russel Hobbs treatment.

The tie-up comes at a time of celebration for both G-Shock and Gorillaz. This year, the watch brand celebrated its 35th anniversary, and Gorillaz has just released a new album, ‘The Now Now’.

The G-Shock x Gorillaz collection is due to launch in store and online in two phases, with the Murdoc and 2D styles dropping on 15 November, and the Russel and Noodle watches launching a month later on 15 December.
