NYC-based apparel company G-III Apparel Group, Ltd. announced on Monday that it has entered into an agreement with Calvin Klein for the design, production and distribution of the PVH-owned fashion brand’s women’s jeanswear collections in the US and Canada.

The deal, which has an initial term of five years, is intended to boost Calvin Klein’s women’s denim business in North America by leveraging G-III’s category and market expertise.

G-III adds the jeanswear license to its other Calvin Klein womenswear licenses in North America, which include ready-to-wear, dresses, outerwear, accessories and swimwear.

“G-III has been a great partner for us over the years and has successfully grown the Calvin Klein womenswear business to be a leading resource across the North American apparel market,” stated PVH Corp Chairman and CEO Emanuel Chirico in a release. “We look forward to our expanded partnership with G-III, as this represents another great opportunity to leverage their market expertise to drive the continued expansion of the Calvin Klein women’s apparel categories.”

“We have an incredible relationship with PVH and the Calvin Klein team,” added G-III Chairman and CEO Morris Goldfarb. “They have done an outstanding job managing and marketing the Calvin Klein brand and we look forward to further developing this iconic global brand and building a profitable women’s business for Calvin Klein Jeans in the U.S. and Canada.”

As well as licenses with the likes of Karl Lagerfeld Paris, Levi’s, Kenneth Cole and Guess, G-III also owns brands including DKNY and Donna Karan – both acquired from LVMH in 2016 – as well as Vilebrequin, G.H. Bass and Andrew Marc, among others.

The company went from strength to strength last year, ending fiscal 2019 with record annual sales of $3.08 billion, up almost 10% from the previous year. Looking forward to fiscal 2020, the group expects to see annual net sales of approximately $3.28 billion.

G-III’s first women’s jeanswear collection for Calvin Klein is slated to drop in the Spring 2020 season.
