Freshly Cosmetics to open a dozen shops this year bringing its total number of shops to 20
The Spanish natural cosmetics company Freshly Cosmetics closed 2022 with sales of 45 million euros, in line with the previous year. After what the company defines as "a year of consolidation", in 2023 it will focus on retail growth and is planning to open a dozen new stores.
The brand plans to have a total of 20 shops in Spain by the end of the year. It has already confirmed store openings in Granada, in Recogidas street; in Barcelona, in the La Maquinista shopping centre; in Tarragona, in the Parc Central complex, and in Sant Miquel street in Palma. A further eight will follow, bringing its total number of openings to 12.
In parallel to its retail development, Freshly Cosmetics is committed to expanding its international online presence. Sales outside Spain already account for 30% of its turnover. The company currently ships to 35 countries and is developing specific strategies for the French, Italian and Portuguese markets.
"In 2022 we focused on strengthening the company after two years of tremendous growth, growing from €12 million to €45 million. It has been a year full of learning and we are very happy with the results we have achieved. We have been much more efficient and this will undoubtedly help us lay the foundations for the future," said Miquel Antolín, co-founder and CEO of Freshly Cosmetics.
"For 2023 we have established a clear objective: expansion. We want to grow across the board, especially in retail and abroad, without losing the essence of what has brought us this far," he added.
Freshly Cosmetics, which plans to hire 70 new employees this year, closed 2022 with eight shops, having opened five new shops in the course of the year. It also opened a new 14,000 square metre logistics centre in Gandesa.
