Freemans in first Christmas prime time TV ad feeds into biggest ever campaign
Otto Group’s UK catalogue-retailer-turned-online-pureplay Freemans is continuing the heavy promotion drive that has seen it advertising on TV this autumn, with its first ever prime time TV ad for the festive season.
This will be its biggest ever Christmas campaign and will also come with “a host of digital and social media activity”.
The #BeMoreFestive campaign includes “a heart-warming homage to our favourite musical movie moments, aiming to hit the right note with an upbeat positive message ahead of the Christmas peak in the most extraordinary season retail has ever seen”.
It comes after the firm launched its biggest ever Christmas Home and Gift range, including ‘jungle bells’-themed wild animal and leopard print baubles and “a distinctive range of ‘upside down’ and mannequin Christmas trees”.
Meanwhile, the upbeat ad continues the free-dancing theme of the autumn ads. It’s voiced over by Downtown Abbey star, Joanne Froggatt, and is backed by a Christmas mix of the song that launched its rebrand, ‘Do It Like This’ by singer/songwriter Daphne Willis.
Freemans has been transforming itself in recent months and has added a number of new brands to its offer, including Arcadia’s Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge and Wallis, plus Janet Reger, Ann Summers, Seasalt and Radley. It’s also preparing for SS21 when an exclusive Julien Macdonald fashion and homewares collection is set to launch.
Meanwhile, the editorial team at Mail Online will curate shoppable video and inspirational editorial content as part of the brand’s ongoing digital partnership.
