MenInvest, the parent company of France’s MenLook, has increased its online retailing presence with the acquisition of British e-retailer Oki-Ni.com, a site that specializes in premium menswear.

Oki-ni.com

The acquisition was backed by MenLook investors AXA Private Equity, Partech International, 123 Venture and Orkos Capital, making Oki-Ni the latest addition to the its ‘super premium tier’. E-tailer Oki-Ni currently does 40% of sales in its domestic market of UK, followed by the U.S., Japan and Germany. Present in 75 markets, the website attracts more than 500,000 unique visitors a month thatnks to its big designer names such as Alexander McQueen, Rick Owens, Comme Des Garçons, Kenzo, Raf Simons and Maison Martin Margiela.

MenInvest founder Marc Menase said: “I am very proud of this acquisition as it reflects the entrepreneurial values of MenInvest. It is a key piece of our growth strategy to reach €100m revenue by 2016 and become the global online men’s fashion destination.”

MenInvest will be making some serious investments over 18 months in a bid to push development, improve marketing and expand product range and services at the online retailer. The London-based Oki-Ni team and office will remain in place.
