The mixed-use development is being built at the centre of the Scottish capital and will deliver five floors of shopping, dining, leisure and entertainment. It’s expected to welcome more than 20 million visitors a year.

The pre-let deal will see Zara take 37,000 square feet over three floors while Bershka, Stradivarius and Pull&Bear will take stores of 9,300 square feet, 6,000 square feet and 8,000 square feet respectively, all located within the main multilevel galleria.

Other retailers in the line-up include John Lewis and Next and the scheme will also include Scotland’s first luxury W Hotel and an Everyman Cinema.

Edinburgh St James is one of the most significant regeneration projects currently underway in Scotland, requiring a £1bn investment to strengthen the city’s reputation as a leading European destination. According to a CACI research, the centre will increase the city’s catchment area by 13% when it opens in 2020.

Martin Perry, director of development at Edinburgh St James, commented: “Edinburgh St James is being created to reflect Edinburgh’s position as a pan-European opportunity city with a thriving economy and unique appeal amongst tourists from across the world. The signing of four Inditex brands to take prime locations within Edinburgh St James reinforces the development’s significance and highlights its appeal to leading international brands.”

The new mall will be located next to Multrees Walk, which is home to luxury labels including Harvey Nichols, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Michael Kors, Stella McCartney, Balenciaga and Victoria Beckham.
