The Bristol-headquartered works with more than 1,000 brands to transact more than $1.8bn of trade across 26 countries. It has seen a 77% increase in new business growth over the last year, and was recently voted the top software company to work for in Britain.

Maurice Helfgott, who spent almost 16 years at Marks & Spencer as executive director for the menswear, childrenswear and home division, will join as chairman to drive growth. He is currently also chairman of Oliver Sweeney and Long Tall Sally, and sits on the board of Moss Bros as senior independent director, among others.

Helfgott has more than 30 years of retail operations and industry expertise, and has built a reputation for transforming the fortunes of fashion businesses, especially online.

“Retail and wholesale are in a stage of transformation and reinvention and there is a huge opportunity in this sector.” he said. “I know from experience that automating the back office to work efficiently is now a major priority for merchants. Brightpearl has purpose-built an ERP solution that’s designed specifically for retailers and wholesalers to take back control of their business and generate significant operational gains.”

The company offers back office support for expanding retailers, wholesalers and online players. Its customers include jewellery and accessories brands like Alex Monroe, David Shuttle and Finlay London,  and fashion brands including Katie Kerr, Herbert Sports and Sportique.
