Sander Lak et Joey Laurenti

Born on the remote island of Borneo, Dutch by nationality, and a graduate from the Saint Martins School, Sander Lak started his career with Phillip Lim and later with Balmain. For the past 4 years, he was working at Dries Van Noten as a creative director.

The name of this new brand is actually a combination of the last names of its parents.

Earlier this year, Sander Lak has been chosen to take the direction of creation, under the impulse of Joey Laurenti, head of the Sies Marjan brand, former wholesale director at Opening Ceremony and president of Goods and Services, a New York-based multibrand showroom.

The brand belongs to Deia LLC, a holding company founded in 2012 by Nancy and Howard Marks, a millionaire couple that created Oaktree Capital Management, an investment fund that among other things invested in the Ralph Rucci brand.

The Sies Marjan label, which counts with a staff of about 30, is thinking big. According to Sander Lak : "Our goal is not to remain confidential, but rather to play a major role in New York, with ambitious plans worldwide."
