Salvatore Ferragamo is entering the children's segment. In the past, the Florentine luxury fashion label introduced a series of capsule collections for children in some of its stores, without ever creating a fully-fledged junior line. Now it has launched into the segment, like other labels have done, driven by customers' pressing requests.

Salvatore Ferragamo is a footwear specialist, and the new line is above all an accessories collection, featuring a mini version of its best-sellers for grown-ups. This pioneering collection will be presented on Thursday in Florence, in parallel with the Pitti Bimbo children's fashion trade show.

It consists of mini handbags and shoes for boys and girls aged 3 to 8, replicas of some of the fashion label's iconic models, such as the Varina, the famous ballerinas with a bow, or the Driver moccasins.

The line was tested successfully in some Ferragamo stores over the last few weeks, and will be launched officially from Friday 24th June.
