Following Tommy Hilfiger's return to the New York runway, another major event is expected in the Big Apple this fall. Fendi announced it will open New York Fashion Week, which runs until September 14, with a fashion show on September 9.

No details about the show have been announced yet. In a post on its Instagram page showing a campaign with Linda Evangelista wearing a silver Baguette bag, Fendi simply stated that it will celebrate the 25th anniversary of its cult bag and Kim Jones' two years as artistic director of womenswear and couture.

Later in September, the Roman luxury house, owned by LVMH, will present the womenswear collection for Spring/Summer 2023 designed by Kim Jones during Milan Fashion Week, as usual, according to the company.

The Baguette bag was created in 1997 by Silvia Venturini Fendi, the current creative director of accessories and men's ready-to-wear collections. With its elongated rectangular shape and mini strap, the bag model was considered eccentric at the time.

But thanks to its popularity with celebrities, it went down in history as the fashion world's first It bag. The famous bag has sold over a million copies and has since been reinterpreted time and again - even in a perfumed version - and is also currently benefiting from 2000s nostalgia.
