Fast Retailing joins Daiwa House to rethink logistics

Fast Retailing has announced work on the establishment of a logistics hub in conjunction with the construction company Daiwa, which is specialized in prefabricated houses. In addition to the hub, both Japanese companies have set up a joint venture to develop the new Japanese logistics center and to establish centers across the globe to fulfill various needs.

In Tokyo, the logistics center, which should be operational in 2016, will extend in total over more than 1,200,000 square feet. The floor of the six-story building will only use 200,000 square feet out of about 400,000 square feet.

In a press release, Fast Retailing (Uniqlo, Comptoir des Cotonniers, Princesse Tam. Tam, etc.) refers to the need to reduce the need for on-site stock in order to increase sale space, and especially to be able to respond more quickly!
