Fashion wholesaler Rocco bought out of administration

Leicester-based fashion wholesaler Rocco Fashion has been rescued from administration by RB Fashion Limited in a deal that has saved 10 jobs.

The company, which designs and manufactures womenswear for high street retailers, slipped into administration on 16 May as a result of difficult trading conditions in the UK retail market.

All ten staff at Rocco have stayed in employment after their jobs were transferred to the new owner, which is also based in Leicester.

Administrators Andrew Andronikou and Simon Bonney from Quantuma said: “A number of issues, including the downturn in the national retail market, impacted on Rocco Fashion Ltd with the result that cashflow was hit.

“But we were quickly in touch with a number of interested parties and are pleased that a sale has now been achieved to RB Fashion Ltd.

“Our detailed negotiations have enabled both the business to continue and ten jobs to be saved, which is an excellent result given the initial situation we encountered.”

The impact of market volatility, pricing pressures and squeezed disposable incomes have claimed several victims on the high street over the past year, with big names including House of Fraser, New Look and Mothercare all struggling to survive.

Rocco Fashion was founded in June 2015 and its last recorded turnover was around £5.5 million.
