Fashion sales up at UK's John Lewis in week to 25 June
Jun 28, 2016
Despite the Brexit and bad weather, which Springboard says affected footfall in the UK last week, department store retailer John Lewis had a successful week to 25 June.

Total sales in the period were up 7.3% to £96.7m. Ed Connolly, Director, Fashion at John Lewis, said this was mainly due to the fact that Clearance sales were brought forward compared to last year, in line with the market. Fashion sales were up 4.1% in the week, with kidswear, nursery and haberdashery doing especially well - up 14.4%. Womenswear sales rose just 4.4% and were beaten by menswear sales, which rose 10.7%.
Home sales were up 9.5% and electricals & home technology sales up 10.2%.
John Lewis is currently expanding - the retailer recently announced a new partnership with Irish retailer Arnotts, which will see it become physically available in Ireland this year for the first time.
