Do you love fashion unquestioningly but sometimes wonder where your clothes come from? This week sees the second edition of Fashion Revolution Day, focusing on how the fashion industry can secure a more sustainable and ethically and environmentally sound future.

The day will be centered around a social media campaign asking fashion fans to explore the origins of their clothing via the hashtag "#whomademyclothes". Social media users are being asked to turn their togs inside out, take a snap of the label and communicate directly with the brand. The aim is to open up the dialogue with fashion labels surrounding supply chains, in the hope that brands will share their production stories with the public.

The initiative is headed up by Maxine Bédat and Soraya Darabi, the co-founders of the US slow fashion brand Zady. The label is working to create a new standard within the fashion industry to require brands to provide supply chain transparency and take full responsibility for their production, from farm to finish factory. For Fashion Revolution Day Zady will expose its own supply chain for its new women's USDA organic t-shirt, showcasing how the garment was sustainably and responsibly sourced and produced entirely within the U.S.

It is the second annual event for the campaign, which was originally launched to mark the anniversary of fatal Rana Plaza factory collapse in Bangladesh. The inaugural campaign trended worldwide with on-the-ground events in over 60 countries, including Italy, Australia, Canada, and the UK.

Join the #FashRev conversation online by asking brands #whomademyclothes on April 24. For more information on Fashion Revolution Day, see http://fashionrevolution.org/
