Fashion Space Gallery opens applications for 2019 residency

Published
Nov 20, 2018

Fashion Space Gallery, the conceptual exhibition space at London College of Fashion’s Central London campus, has invited emerging designers to apply for its 2019 residency.

Nestor Pestana & Deborah Tchoudjinoff's The Anthropocene Body: Plumial Space

Returning with the theme of ‘Design and Politics’, the programme aims to support original designers and their exploration of new ideas through a multi-disciplinary approach.

The selected resident will receive a £5,000 award to develop their project, access to design and fabrication studios at the London College of Fashion and the opportunity to collaborate with artists, architects, engineers, product, graphic and game designers and scientists.

The project’s outcome will be showcased at Arcade East in Hackney during the summer season.

The 2019 residency will focus on the theme of ‘Design and Politics’, and encourage an in-depth examination of design’s ability to affect and influence politics in a time of widespread political turbulence.

Designers Nestor Pestana and Deborah Tchoudjinoff, Charlotte-Maeva Perret, Adam Peacock and Benjamin John Hall have previously participated in the programme.

Applications to become the 2019 resident close on 4 January 2019.
