Fashion East unveils menswear lineup for SS20

Published
May 17, 2019

Up-and-coming menswear brands Mowalola, Robyn Lynch and Saul Nash have been announced as the latest generation of Fashion East designers, and will present their SS20 collections in a group catwalk show during London Fashion Week Men’s in June.

The latest wave of Fashion East recipients will also receive financial bursaries and mentoring as part of the programme, which has supported and helped launch the career of dozens of menswear and womenswear designers (including Dior’s Kim Jones and JW Anderson) since its launch in 2000.

Led by Lulu Kennedy, the non-profit talent incubator selected the three recipients with the help of a panel of experts which included Natalie Kingham, fashion & buying director of Matchesfashion.com; Tim Blanks, editor-at-large of the Business of Fashion; and Sarah Mower, chief critic of Vogue US.

Mowalola by British-Nigerian Mowalola Ogunlesi and Dublin-based Robyn Lynch both return for their second seasons, whilst newcomer Saul Nash, a dancer, choreographer and fashion graduate of the Royal College of Art, will make his debut as a Fashion East designer this June.

Lulu Kennedy, founder and director of Fashion East, said: “The hit I get from these three designers and their work is pure energy with conviction, poise, talent, and a unique point of view. All important qualities we look for in individuals and we’re thrilled to present three such talents all in one show!”

The fashion incubator has previously supported designers including Craig Green, Martine Rose, Liam Hodges, Wales Bonner, Charles Jeffrey Loverboy, Per Gotesson, Art School and recent graduate Stefan Cooke.
