Element hires new Global General Manager
Element's top executive position has been entrusted to an expert in marketing strategy and content creation. David Brooks is the new General Global Manager at the Billabong skate brand, replacing Frank Voit, who occupied the position for a little over a year. Voit will take up a new role within the Billabong group.
David Brooks joins the skate brand from communication agency Wasserman, where he was Senior Vice-President, Action Sports and Olympic. In this role, he supervised communication strategy and the positioning of labels such as Stance and Under Armour. He has been employed at Wasserman Media since 2004.
"David has an extensive background in sports marketing in the action sports sector—with deep experience in content creation, athlete marketing, and digital activation,” said Neil Fiske of the new recruit. “He is also very connected throughout the skate community.”
Previously, Brooks also served during the early 2000s as COO of 411, one of the key media references for skateboarding at the time.
