Eco-brand Pangaia launches first full collection globally

Published
Dec 12, 2018

Pangaia, the newest brand to hit the world of sustainable fashion, has debuted its first full collection of eco-conscious clothing.

Via Pangaia

In a press release, Pangaia describes itself as a global collective of "people with one mission – to accelerate the world’s transition to responsible production and consumption."

A group effort from a team of artists, scientists, designers and more, Pangaia's debut collection is a line of eco-conscious basics, including t-shirts, hoodies, track pants and puffer jackets.

With a color palette centered on a range of neutrals with a rare pop of black and red, some of the collection's featured sustainable materials include recycled plastic bottles, PVC-free ink and seaweed fiber. The eco-friendly standout, however, has to be the collection's puffer jacket, made with a shell of post-consumer recycled materials and plastic bottles, and filled with wild flower down.

In a further push to be a completely zero-waste system, the collective's wares will be delivered in fully compostable packaging, and all clothes come with a promise of being repaired and upcycled or recycled by the brand for their customers. In addition, one percent of the proceeds from each product sale will be donated to the plastic pollution fighting non-profit 5 Gyres.

Pieces in Pangaia's first collection range in price from $150 to $900, and the collective is set to release accessories and other product categories in early 2019.

If all its altruism weren't enough to appeal to consumers, Pangaia is already riding on a wave of acclaim as well: the collection was previewed last month at ComplexCon, where it earned praise from the likes of Pharrell, artist Takashi Murakami, and Colette Creative Director Sarah Andelman, among others.

Pieces from the new collection can be purchased now on the collective's website, with shipping scheduled for January of 2019.
