The average e-commerce salary in the UK has increased, according to a survey by cranberry panda, an e-commerce recruitment agency.

In 2015, e-commerce salaries in the UK grew by more than 11,000 pounds. This year, it has already increased by over 2,500 so far.

And 60.9 per cent of respondents who hadn't yet had a pay rise in 2016 were expecting one by the end of the year, while just 0.6 per cent said that they believed their pay would decrease in the next 8 months.

The e-commerce salary survey found that currently, men hold more senior positions than women.

There are still more men than women occupying senior level e-commerce jobs and falling within the 70,000 pounds and above pay bracket. However, for the last two years, more young women have been entering the sector than men. This leads to the question: how will the industry look in terms of gender balance in 5 years' time? Will more women than men occupy senior level roles?

According to the survey, there's no 'one size fits all' when it comes to job titles. Last year, an overwhelming 75 per cent of respondents had unique job titles. Although this figure has dropped in 2016, it still remains quite high at 48 per cent.

Most people leave their ecommerce job because it's time for a change, the survey found. Forty one per cent of ecommerce superstars said that they left their last role simply because it was time for a change. The second highest reason was 'needs not being met'.
